What Causes Stabbing Pain On The Side Of The Head?

I thought I had sinus problems but after some bad headaches my head is sore to the touch and I have stabbing pains on right side of head, sometime moving down to my ear. I also have times when I can t lay a bit of my head on the pillow without it hurting.

Hi,
I am Dr Mittal. I have read your message. I think I can help you.
First, the headaches may be a part of the sinusitis.
From the query I am not sure why you feel you have sinusitis.
I suggest a x ray PNS waters view to confirm the diagnosis.
An MRI BRAIN should be able to help you with the diagnosis of headache.
Meanwhile, I would suggest that you start with
1. high fluid intake,
2. warm saline gargles 4 times a day,
3. steam inhalation 4 times a day,
4. multivitamins course once a day
5. paracetamol sos for fever and headache.
Let me know when you get the tests. I may be able to help you with the treatment thereafter.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal
