What Causes Squishy Sound In Ears While Blowing With Mouth?

Hi, I have noticed when I try to pop my ears ( especially individually) by blowing with mouth and nose plugged, I have a somewhat "squishy" sound in my right ear. It doesn't really hurt unless I try popping it a few times in a short span and then it aches slightly. The other ear does not make any noise. What are some possibilities?

Hi.
Thanks for the query..

As per your complain squishy sounds in the ear can be due to middle ear infection leading to fluid accumulation inside the ear especially when there is difference in pressure generated inside the ear on blowing the ear..
It can also happen secondary to cold and flu leading to infection and fluic accumulation in ear as the ear and throat are connected via Eustachian tube..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologost and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
In case of infection in ear antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkillers and decongestant nasal drops can be advised..
Drainage of fluid can also be established..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
