What Causes Spotting While On Birth Control Pills?

If i have been on birth control (pills) for almost 2 years and never had an issue with it before what could it mean if i am spotting a week before i am suppose to be on my monthly cycle and the last month i spotted one day and the month before i didnt have a period

You are using hormonal pill as contraceptive. .....

All contraceptive pills can lead spotting means breakthrough bleed as side effect ...
Your period also can be less sometime and bleed can occur in between period ...

But if your vaginal bleed more than cause needs to be searched by pelvic examination and USG and further work up needed.

You have spotting so no need for much worry.
But you have mentioned delayed period ..
So for that doc consultation for examination and detail history needed
As such pill is strong contraceptive but if one or two pill missed than pregnancy chances can be there

Advise : gynecologist consultation for examination....
