What Causes Spots On Cornea After Having Cataract Surgery?
I am a 73- year old woman. Had cataract surgery on both eyes. The day after I had surgery in my left eye, I had a feeling of something foreign in my eye. Doctor said the surgery went well and j just had dry eyes. I ve used many ointments and drops but nothing seems to work. Till this day I still feel like I have something in my eye. I ve handled this eye discomfort for more than a year. About a week and a half ago my grandson noticed some small dots like spots on my cornea. Please help with my diagnosis . Thank you. Lia
There are many post operative sequences of the cataract surgery and various presentations of the same. The most common cause of spots on cornea with haziness of vision indicates corneal or retinal edema most likely from operative trauma. However, a detailed fundoscopy examination with ultrasound of the eye ball is mandatory for the further guidelines of cure and management.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
