Hi, thanks for writing to HCM. Based on the description of your symptoms, I suspect that they could be possibly due to infection in the prosthetic joint. Any amount of swelling (which is recurrent in nature) occuring after a total knee replacement surgery is not considered as normal and warrants investigations. Routing blood investigations like Crp, ESR , Differential count etc , radiographic evaluation, synovial fluid analysis are needed to arrive at a possible diagnosis.
