What Causes Splotchy And Itchy Rashes On Stomach And Chest?

I have been taking tamoxifen for 1 year at this point and I get a rash from time to time all over my body but mostly on my torso. This last weekend I got really hot moving furniture and within hours my shoulders, stomach and chest was covered with a very splotchy, itchy rash and every day since I seem to have more new spots. Does tamoxifen cause a rash when associated with heat?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history you are having allergic dermatitis.
My treatment advice is -
1. It is unlikely to occur due to tamoxifen as drug induced rashes are mostly generalized.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like fusiderm-b cream twice daily on affected skin.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
