Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been having some pelvic discomfort for the past couple of weeks including spasms. There is unpleasant odor and I noticed I m having frequent bowel movements throughout the day. The bowel movements are small and after the bowel movement, I still have the urge to keep going. The pelvic spasms are in the middle of the pelvic, but the pelvic pain is on the left side of the pelvic. My period is late by a week and four days and this is the first time I have missed a period and not been pregnant. There is not a possibility of me having been pregnant as I have not had intercourse for the past month and a half.
Pelvis spasms usually occur due to weak pelvic floor muscles. They cause complications like slow urine stream, frequent urination, constipation, discomfort during sexual intercourse. Regular pelvic floor exercises are effective.
Take fiber in diet & plenty of water to avoid constipation. Avoid oily creamy food. Take calcium, protein & iron rich diet. Do regular exercises but avoid any activity that triggers pelvic spasms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K,
General & Family Physician
