What Causes Sores And Red Spots On The Tongue?

I've had canker sores since the first week of December. After using Pyralvex upon recommendation by a dentist, the first canker sores have healed, but it seems that every time a sore heals, others come up. Now I've been experiencing what seems like a burned tongue, but I do not recall eating something that could have caused it. Right now I see some sores and red spots on my tongue. Is this really burned tongue, or is this caused by the spread of canker sores?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms you are suffering from APTHOUS STOMATITIS leading to formation of apthous ulcers and Glossitis that is inflammation of tongue leading to a burnt feeling..

The few common causes of Apthous Stomatitis is due to Nutritional Deficiency of iron, vitamin B12 and folic acid, stress, allergy to certain food or medicines etc..

Nothing to worry, gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
Take a multivitamin tablet daily.
Take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.
Avoid hot and spicy food and take a soft bland diet.
Suck on ice pops and gargle with cold water.
Soda bicarb gargles also relieve.
Drink plenty of water..
If still there is no improvement consult an oral physician and get evaluated..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
