The right side of my throat has been sore for 2 days with my gland a little swollen on right side of neck. Very painful to swallow and feels like I have something in throat when I swallow. I just felt my soft palate with my finger and there is a very painful Knott. The Knott is on the right side of the start of my soft palate.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to Acute tonsillitis (right side).

Presented with similar complaints, I usually treat my patients with:
1. A course of antibiotics like Amoxicillin.
2. Tablet Allegra 60 mg twice a day or Tablet Levocetrizine 10 mg in the evening.
3. Voice rest- avoid talking in loud voice & for a long time.
4. Stay protected from exposure to cold, dust & other allergens.
5. Steam inhalation & warm saline gargles.
6. Avoid smoking, cold food & drinks, maintain adequate hydration & take soft, non-spicy foods.

There is no need to worry, you will be fine.
Wishing you a Good Health.
Take care.
