I got a chest xray in dec 6th.(non smoker for almost 9 yrs). went for chest xray,because I was due for Bone density test. Dr thought to do both. Haven t had chest exray for 5 yrs. Found an abnormality. went for Car scan Due back this Tues. for next one. went for cat scan dec 20th. lung Dr. said wit until Feb 14th for repeat cat scan. There is a ill-defined density in the left upper lobe with irregular ontour and focal bronchiectasis and a halo of groundglass opacity. This density measures 2.5x2cm. In additio,and the left lower lobe there is a area ofgroundglass opacity measuring approx 1cm. No additional of paenchymal infiltrates or lesions are appreciated. There is no pleural effusion or pleural based mass. There is some apical fibrotic change bilaterally along with small blebs. There is no pleural effusion or pleural based mass. There is no Pneumothorax. the Heart size appears normal. there arre some calcific,atherosclerotic changes of the coronary arteries. There is no evidence of the pericardial effusion. There is no axillary,hilar or mediastinal adenopathy. The central airways appear normal. Scanning in upper abdomen reveals a small hypodensity in segment 2 and segment 5 of the liver. These measure 5mm and likely reflect cysts. The adrenal glands appear unremarkable. A probable cyst is partially visualized in the lower pole of the left kidney. I took antibiotics called cefuroxime 250mg. for 10 days on 12/12/11. I do feel better when I take a deep breath.(Doesn t hurt anymore). Or at times when i felt like dust in my nose and coughing the pain was so sore in my chest. That is Gone. Also I did have some wheezing that I heard. Also at one time I was soooo Sore in the chest and shulders and back I was going to buy another mattress. I feel Good. I am wondering if you can explain this to me. I appreciate you taking your time to help explain this to me. I am soooo Nervous and cannot relax since this thing started. I am otherwise so Healthy. for 64 and turning 65 this wed. I speed walk for 19 yrs at 4miles aday 5-6 days aweek. Am thin about 109-112. Please help me undersrtand what this is...Thank you so much.
