What Causes Soreness In Throat Despite Taking Cortisone Shot And Amoxicillin?
A day ago I went to Er for severe sore throat and ear pain could not swallow .They didn t do a strep test on me just examined my ears And throat and gave me a cortisone shot in hip and started me on amoxicillin 500mg 3 times a day but my sore throat is no better !! What is going on ? What should I do ?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have soreness in throat despite taking Cortisone shot and Amoxicillin . It seems that you and your family members are constantly getting exposed to allergens. There can be other reasons also like viral pharyngitis , acid reflux or chest infection . If there is still soreness even after taking amoxicillin then there are chances of viral infection . I would suggest you to visit pulmonologist once and get yourself examined. You should go for pulmonary function tests to find out exact extent of infection. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. Take proper course of antibiotics along with bronchiodilators. Avoid oily, sharp and spicy food and take diet rich in multivitamins. Drink plenty of fluids. For now drink warm water with one spoon of honey in it several times a day .
