What Causes Soreness At The Base Of Skull Along With Blurred Vision?

Past couple days have noticed sore to touch spot at back of my head at base of scull and few minutes ago started to just feel weird or off feeling and my vision suddenly went blurry and keeps going in and out of focus, should I be concerned or just wait it out to see if passes?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Headache as expressed by you and blurry vision is an urgent concern, hence I would advise you the following:
- Rush to ER for getting a clinical evaluation, examination
- Urgent MRI of brain and eyes
- An opinion of an ophthalmologist
- Second opinion of ENT surgeon if the skull base or nerves or artery to eyes are affected
- Once a proper diagnosis is done then only it is possible to have specific curative treatment
- Do not waste time

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
