Hi dear. Thank you for trusting healthcaremagic. I have understood your questions and your worries.

Pravastatin is a statin drugs, use to decrease the lipid/cholesterol in our body. The side effects by using pravastatin can cause musculoskeletal pain and myalgia (pain in the muscles) as much as more than 10%, it can be tenderness, weakness or numb. It mostly happen in arm, back and joints. The other common side effects are headache, dizziness,
Long term using pravastatin can trigger rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the muscles is damaged following by renal impairment.

If you have these symptoms, you should contact your doctor:
1. Severe musculoskeletal pain that get worsen
2. Difficulty in moving your body
3. No urination or less than usual
4. If you have liver disease, kidney disease.
5. Yellowing skin or eyes (jaundice).

Use pravastatin once daily, drink plenty of water, do not drink alcohol it may worsen the liver function. Eat nutritious food and do exercises routinely.

I hope these can be helpful for your question. If there's anything else you need to know, feel free to discuss it with me in HealthCareMagic. I hope you'll get well soon and your lipid profile can get normal. Take care.
