What Causes Sore Throat, Lightheadedness And Red Eyes In A Child?

I have a 7yr old with a sore throat but only in the front, he said he was a little cold, but no fever, no runny nose, tonsils are not swollen nor are they red. he said he was light headed, and his eyes are a little red , but he has been crying. no rash and no pain any where else. Virus or Strep? your opinion very appreciated Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
complain of sore throat suggests that it would be infection of beta hemolytic streptococci bacteria .
it does not seem as viral infection which is usually associated with cold and cough.
your child should undergo following test to confirm the infection.
ASO titre
CRP
ESR
culture of throat swab.
it will confirm the strain of bacteria.
meanwhile he should take following medicine
tab coamoxiclav 375mg thrice daily
tab pan40 once daily in morning before breakfast.
tab voveron sr 100 half tabs twice daily.
three times gargling of mouth with warm salt water.all for 7 days.
thankyou and take care of him.
