What Causes Sore Throat, Headache And Swollen Tonsil In Pregnancy?

Hi, Iv had a severely sore throat for the last 2days now and been having awful head aches for the past few weeks which last 72hoirs at a time today my throats a lot worse so I decided to look in the mirror and I can see one lump (which I m guessing is my tonsil) swollen on the left side, I pushed the back of my tongue up to see it a little clearer and noticed one huge slit all the way down and it s very open and then loads of pus came out with I spat out, I m also 16+4 weeks pregnant, could you please help.

Hello,

It may be due to sore throat.

For that continue saline or betadine gargles twice a day.

Continue steam inhalation.

For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen.

It would be better to avoid antibiotics in pregnancy.
