General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The sore throat is normal after quitting smoking.
You may have a cough and a sore throat as your lungs begin to clear out the mucus and other debris smoking creates.
I suggest to drink liquids and gargle with salty water.
There is no need for treatment.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
