What Causes Sore Throat Along With Fever And Headache?

My son in college get soar throat, fever and terrible head ache almost every month. He has no cold or cough with it? Is this a symptom to something serious? The head ache is in the middle above the forehead. not on one side of the forehead or under the eyes.

It is possible that the symptoms may be due to a problem with the sinuses.It is not likely related to a serious condition but it is understandable to be alarmed.

Fever is part of the body's inflammatory response meaning that it can occur with infection, allergies, trauma for example persons who recently have surgery (type of trauma) can have fever though no infection is present.

If it recurs, he should try and be seen at the same time so that an accurate assessment can be made.

If it is related to the sinuses then using an anti histamine decongestant combination may be helpful along with a pain killer such as ibuprofen, cataflam or naproxen.
