What Causes Sore Throat After Recovering From Cold And Headache?
2 weeks ago I had a headache, stuffy nose so I took over the counter generic sinus med which help. Took them for 3 day. Felt better then after I stopped taken then a day Later I started getting a sore throat. Now this whole week I had a little sore throat by the end of the day it really hurts and my ear really ache. I go to bed and wake up again with a little sore throat. No today my ears and throat hurt more then normal not like at night while watching TV. I have no fever and feel good other the the throat and ears. Do I go too Dr. Or not?
You can consider the use of a painkiller such as ibuprofen or Cataflam or naproxen along with antihistamine/decongestant combination.
Pain in the ears can sometimes be related to congestion of the sinuses or ear canal.
If there is any post nasal drip, the decongestant/antihistamines would help as well because a sore throat can sometimes be due to post nasal drip of mucus to the back of the throat.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
