What Causes Sore Testicles Post Colon Removal?

My colon ruptured on Feb 15, 2015. Emergency surgery was performed to remove a section of my colon and to install a colostomy. The reverse colectomy was performed on May 14th. The procedure went well and I am healing nicely. However, for the past couple of days (since June 2, 2015), my testicles have been sore. Should I be concerned?

Hello,

No, I don't think you should be worried about. This is a side effect of the current surgery and it is related to nerve damage. I think it will return to its prior function again soon no worries.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
