What Causes Sore On The Labia After Having Unprotected Sex?

HI, I am worried about a cyst like sore that has appeared on the inner part of my labia. There is only one blister but it is so swollen, that it makes the one side of my labia bigger and longer than the other one. It is very red and painful. I have only had sex twice and once was unprotected. It has been 6 months since I had the unprotected sex. Should I be worried that this is herpes? Will it turn white if it is herpes? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Cysts on labia can indicate vaginal infections. Antibiotics should be used to reduce the infection. Immersing below waist in warm water can help in easy draining of cyst and can reduce discomfort. Antibiotic ointment can be applied at the site to reduce the infection.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
