Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sore Nipples And Delayed Period After Taking Morning-after Pill?
On birth control but vomitted my pill up a couple hours before I had sex (10th April, last period was 2 weeks before as usual), then the condom broke so I took the morning after pill on the 12th, period was due on the 20th and is now 4 days late. Sore nipples and a late period. Pregnant or just side affects?
If you are using morning after pill, it may delay your period up to 7 days after you normally expect it. If you do not get your period within 3 weeks, then please take pregnancy test. Usually, you do not suppose to visit doctor after taking such pill but if you have bleeding and spotting that lasts more than one week along with crampy abdominal pain, then you may visit doctor. This could be sign of ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage. Therefore, in your case, the most likely this is medication side effect not pregnancy.
