What Causes Soft Painful Lump On Stomach?

for a couple of months when I laugh hard I get a lump near the upper part of my stomach and it hurts takes my breath away I have to massage it and I can feel it goes back into place. I have had an Esophogram and CT scan and don t show a hernia could it be hidden?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The symptoms described by you- feeling a lump while laughing and lump going back to its place are very much suggestive of hernia.
A CT scan is capable of detecting a hernia and hernial defect.
No evidence of hernia on CT scan rules out the possibility of hernia.
Thus, further more investigations are required to diagnose the condition.
The lump could be a soft tissue mass and MRI is required to assess the site and its extent in the abdomen.
I suggest you to consult your treating doctor for further investigations and management.
