What Causes Sneezing And Runny Nose After A Dental Procedure?
I just got two shots in my mouth (upper front) at the dentist for fillings about 2 hours ago. About an hour after I left the dentist I am all stuffy and sneezing and my nose is constantly running. I was reading other similar complaints online from other people, therefore I m thinking it s not a coincidence since I did feel twitching and tingling in my nose while the shot was being injected. My question is how long will this last or is there anything I can do to stop it?
Your symptoms are typically of an allergic reaction and it looks like any of the contents of the local anaesthesia has caused an allergic reaction to you leading to sneezing and running nose.. Twitching and tingling in nose when injection is given is not abnormal as when the anaesthesia effect starts the area can tingle and the nerve fibres that numb the cheek has some branches in the lateral part of nose also.. This is the reason for feeling tingling.. For allergic reaction you can take anti allergics like Benadryl and put decongestant nasal drops in your nose.. If the symptoms does not improve in 3-4 days consult a Physician and get evaluated..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
