Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have small spots/sores??? on my feet that feel like I m stepping on hot nails. Callouses form over them and I have to remove them with a razor blade. I first had one on the right foot (On the front) Then another one came on the other side of the same foot: then it happened on the left foot in the same place. Then another one formed on the side of a toe. I m wondering if it could be viral?
Based on the history you seem to have developed a skin condition called plantar warts. It is a type of viral infection caused by human papilloma virus resulting in small growths that usually appear on the heels or other areas of feet. The virus enters the body through tiny cuts, breaks or other weak spots on the bottom of your feet.
Most plantar warts are not a serious health problem and usually go away without treatment eventually. However, I advise you to consult a skin specialist for proper examination and treatment either by peeling medicament (salicyclic acid) or by cryotherapy.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
