What Causes Small Red Bumps Below Eye And On Forehead?
I woke up the other morning with small red lumps under my left eye, down my left cheek and on the left side of my forehead. I went to the doctors where I was told it was acne and given some cream, but I don t feel like it is acne. The lumps are raised and sore with no head on them. I ve had acne spots before and there s do not feel the same. They have now popped up under my right eye in a cluster. What could they be?
I can understand your concern for small red bumps below eye and on forehead.
The type of description which you have given is typically matching with Shingles or medically known as Herpes Zoster.
It is a viral infection which occurs at one side of body and can occur from head to toe. The most striking feature is the presence of red eruptions mimicking acne on face initially and is typically in a group fashion.
In young people it is very less in its intensity but in old and elderly person can cause lot of pain and tenderness.
In my patients I give Acyclovir or Famcyclovir according to body weight. I suggest you to meet your family physician again and look from the angle of Shingles to get earliest best treatment.
All the best
