What Causes Small Lump Along The Surgical Line On Abdomen?

Hi, I had my ceserean on October 7th, 2011.. I had an ovarian hemorrhaging cyst on my left ovary almost a year ago. I had gotten a lathroscopically surgery to get the cyst out of me. I also had my left ovary removed. I noticed 2 weeks ago I had a small bump on my ceserean line. It s not painful, however I am worried it could be something serious.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms can be related to a hernia in the incision site. I suggest to do an abdominal ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis. Usually it is not a matter of concern. In case that you have abdominal pain or vaginal bleeding you should check it at the emergency room.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
