What Causes Small Flat, Nickel-sized Bumps In Under Arms?

My boyfriend has been itchy for 4 days now and he developed flat, nickel-sized bumps under his arm (by the pits), on his hips and the sides of his torso. His right wrist and right foot have also began swelling. He said it s not painful, just itchy with a bit of a burning sensation. I had him use Benadryl lotion and a calahyst-type lotion and both seem to help, but everything is still the same. Any insight would be appreciated.

Hello,

Your boyfriend may be having the condition of keratosis pilaris. This condition can be due to blockage of oil glands and resultant eruptions.

i treat my patients with keratolytic agents and give antihistamine tablets. You can talk to your dermatologist for the same.

All the best.
