Hi.
I've gone through your query. I can understand your anxiety.

Bruises in elderly age group occurs because of the fragility of blood vessels or any kind of damage to blood vessels that seems immediately under the superficial layer of skin.

Variety of factors like injury, age, disorders, medications like aspirin, anticoagulants etc plays a major role in bruising.

If bruising is due to injury, simple cold compress on the affected area is helpfull. Also if any drugs causing is used, better to discontinue it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
