My mother is in the hospital for c diff and a uti and all of a sudden she can t speak she has Parkinson s and can t take her sinemet she doesn t seem to be able to swallow she is 88 years old. We are waiting on a brain MRI any thoughts also waitin on an echo

I read your query and understand your concerns.

From the available description this appears to be case of left side stroke as the onset of problem is acute and there is involvement of language function.

In my view the treatment for ischaemic stroke should be started by treating doctor. I also feel that parkinson have nothing to do with current set of symptoms.
