I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Judging by your description it is most probably a question of sleep apnea, interruption of breathing due to collapse of the upper airways. Mostly in obese people who snore at night. Manifests sleepiness and fatigue during the day due to bad quality sleep.
To confirm the diagnosis polysomnography is needed. If confirmed weight loss and use of a cpap machine which keeps the airways open during sleep is recommended.

I hope to have been of help.
