What Causes Slow Heart Function With Low BP After Heart Attack?

My father just had a heart attack and was to be released from the hospital. The test today says his heart is only working 20% and he has low blood pressure. He is 69 years old, smoker, somewhat overweight. Could the new medications cause this or could it be another blockage?

Dear friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

The usual cause is extent of the muscle damage... heart attack means death of muscle of the heart in certain areas. It can also damage the nerves...
Medicines are least likely to cause such a situation…
The treating doctor alone can suggest further based on his assessment of the situation.

Take care
Good luck
