What Causes Slightly Large Tonsils In Kids?

While brushing his teeth, I have just noticed that my 2year 9month old toddler has red, slightly large tonsils. I have never noticed them before and don't know if they are normal for him. He is eating and drinking as normal and seems absolutely fine. I am just concerned that there is something wrong.

Also, we are due to fly in 2 days time. If he does have tonsilitis, can he fly?

Hello. Thank you for your question. Like virtually every other part of the body, some of us have larger tonsils than others. In a child who is otherwise well, we can go our entire lives without issue. You have no need to be overly concerned. He can safely fly.
