What Causes Sleeplessness While On Tramadol?

I am 67 years old and have been taking tramadol hcl for several years for neuropathy (diabetes particularly in the feet) and RA. I have been having trouble sleeping about the same amount of time that I have been taking tramadol hcl. Could tramadol possibly be contributing to this problem?

Understood your problem of less sleeping while taking Tramadol.
Usually Tramadol helps in sleep by alleviating pain. Rare erratic action can cause such a problem that you have mentioned.
But it must be some other problem like Neuropathy, stress or anxiety that can cause and consider these points in diagnosis.
Consult your Doctor and discus about this so that you get proper medication which control all the symptoms together.
