What Causes Sleeplessness And Anxiety In An Elderly Person?
I have a 86 elderly lady that I take care of and last month she fell. Now she is not sleeping, very nervous, thinking her dead family members are living, very anxious, Will not eat, will not sleep at all except for in her recliner. She is on 100 mg of Zoloft, she takes tramadol for pain as her knees are very bad bone on bone, and she also takes 50 mg of melatonin at night to try to get some sleep and of course that is not working. I have had experience with this type of patient before as I have been a caregiver for 35 years. And in my experience Haldol seems to be the best thing to use. Just wanted to know your thoughts on this.

I agree with your choice of drug however sometimes it increases the sleep duration in aged person. But well worth a try since all else is failing
