What Causes Skin Growth At The Anal Opening?

I have two growths at my anus. I showed them to my doctor a couple of years ago and she said it just looked like extra skin. But I believe they have gotten bigger and now, looking with a mirror they look like 2 white things stidking out. How serious is this and what should I do?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
Noted your history of having 2 growths and have been seen by your Doctor who said these are like extra skin.
Usually such skin tags start after an attack of fissure in ano and are placed at 6 and 12 o'clock position. The fissure heals but the skin which is mildly enlarged at the opening of anus remains and with time get mildly elongated and remains so.
These are called sentinel piles which are not true piles.
This is not serious and you may please consult a General Surgeon to get this confirmed and get them excised if you wish to.
