What Causes Skin Colored Bumps Around The Vaginal Opening?

I am slightly concerned because I recently noticed that I have a few (5-8) small bumps around my vaginal entrance. They are flesh like in color and feel, however have a slight itch here and there. I started noticing them towards the second half of my period which was Wednesday-Sunday of this past week. I have only ever been with 2 partners, one was a virgin before and the other had only slept with one person who had slept with one person. I have been with this same partner for about a year now and was already tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia since we have become monogamous partners? Should I be concerned about HPV or does this sound like a non-STD issue?

Hello,

I can understand your concern. Itchy multiple bumps in the vaginal area should always be checked first for sexually transmitted diseases, as they are most often the cause of the problem. Thus, visiting your gynecologist and going for vaginal swab analysis is the first step you should take.

If the swab is clear of any STD, you will need treatment for bacterial or fungal infection, which the vaginal swan report will show, too.

By the time you get checked for it, you should practice sex with condoms so that your partner is protected.

I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Let me know if I can answer your any further question.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
