What Causes Shortness Of Breath?

I have had breathing problems for a while, and they are yet to be discovered. I often experience a feeling of needing more air and not being totally satisfied when breathing normally. It is said that it may be acid reflux, but I have none of the symptoms. I am pretty sure it might be dyspnea because of my history with pneumonia.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

For dyspnea, following work up is needed:
- Auscultation
- Chest x ray
- EKG
- CBC to rule out anemia

If EKG is abnormal and cardiac cause suspected, then echocardiography can be done. Examine calf as well. If calf swelling is present, then pulmonary embolism should be suspected. Also, consult pulmonologist for examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
