What Causes Shortness Of Breath?

I have had shortness of breath for over 2 years now. Have had 2 stress tests that show nothing, a scope twice showing nothing, an inhaler that did nothing, and I just did a sleep study but I m not very hopeful on that either. My shortness of breath is present at any time of day with or without exertion, upon waking in the morning or when I m sitting down doing nothing. There have been 3-4 days in the past 2 years that I have not had the shortness of breath and I didn t do anything differently those days. I did get a DPT/Whopping Cough booster shot just days before this shortness of breath came on. Could that be the cause? I have done everything I could and I m now on my 3rd doctor. Please help me.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

Any vaccines or booster doses can only cause temporary symptoms and so I would recommend a check on your nutrient levels. Many nutrient deficiencies like vitamin D, vitamin B12, etc; can all cause shortness of breath as well. Correction of these levels will help resolve the issue.

Best wishes.
