Hello,

You are suffering from shortness of breath and also left sided chest pain. You have a history of having a triple bypass surgery. You had a stress test done and the report was good. You are however experiencing wheeze when you lie down and also have minor pain chest. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP or by your treating doctor and get required blood tests and X-ray, CT / MRI done. If COPD is detected, you will be treated accordingly. Stay away from addictions if any.

Shortness of breath commonly occurs due to atelectasis, collapse of the small air sac's in the lungs, or may occur due to fluid accumulation within or around the lungs, pulmonary effusion, etc. You are suggested to do regular walking deep breathing exercises and coughing. Get connected to a Physical therapist. Using a spirometer can be of much help.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Pulmonologist Dr. Dr. Jolanda's  Response
Hello,

In order to exclude or diagnose cold you need to do a chest X-ray and a spirometry test. If they are positive than it is from the lungs if not than heart problems should be searched for.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
