What Causes Shortness Of Breath, Anxiety And Dizziness?

Shortness of breath, Anxiety, afraid to sleep. Sitting up constantly to try to clear what I think may be mucus or some build up in respiratory. When finally falling to sleep waking up soon with anxiety and deep breathing. During work my shortness of breath causes dizziness sporadically. I had a lobectomy of the upper left lobe almost a year ago.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You may be getting fear about sleep apnea or panic attacks.

What about your smoking history? Are you obese or not?

You may use anxiolytic drugs for anxiety or low dose oxygen mask in case of sleep apnea or antibiotics and bronchodilator drugs for infection of respiratory tract.

Please consult your physician, he will examine for the cause and treat you accordingly.

Take care.
