What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Pain In The Chest?

Hi.... just a couple of questions... I have been short of breath off and on for the past week or so with off and on pain in my chest and upper back.... I retain water a lot and am having trouble loosing weight but can gain it if I look at or smell food it seems... I m not a doctor but I don t think its heart related... I had it checked probably a year or so ago with a treadmill test and all.... not sure if its age or what, but it is certainly uncomfortable to say the least.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Breathlessness, chest pain and water retention are common symptoms for heart diseases.
So better to get done fresh ecg, 2d echo and stress test (trade mill test).
You are may needs diuretics and other cardiac supportive drugs.
If all these reports are normal then no need to worry for heart diseases.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
