What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Insomnia While On Eliquis And Lexapro?

my wife is being treated for Afib. She has been also had signs of anxiety - but this seems to be a result of shortness of breath and not being able to sleep (a sleep study for Apnia is to be conducted next week). Medications she has been taking this week are: Eliquis, Lexapro, Melotonin (over the counter for sleep) and coming off of Flickonade (last took this last Monday morning. She is feeling TERRIBLE - has had shortness of breath, dizziness and overall loss of appetite. Beginning yesterday she started having shaking in her hands. I just discovered the Eliquis, Lexapro and Melotonin are all interacting.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Escitalopram may can cause drowsyness and giddiness. Usually melatonin may won't cause much side effects. Alixabon may cause bleeding tendency or nausea and vomiting. Please consult your physician he will examine and check for allergic reaction and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
