What Causes Shortness Of Breath After Sinus Surgery?
Dear Doc. My father had Sinus And he got operated 8 months back. Now, In last 1 month, He got suffocated at night. Many times he wake up feeling like he has to push to get enough oxygen into his lungs. Please suggest me what should i do ?I am planning to take him to ENT specialty hospital.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Shortness of breath could be caused by many medical conditions. With a past history of sinus surgery, it might just be a long term complication of the intervention like post intervention obstruction. However, sinus surgeries are known to be very effective in alleviating symptoms.I will suggest you see your ENT specialist to evaluate. If cause not related to sinus surgery complication, other causes of shortness of breath will have to be evaluated like lungs infection/pathologies, heart pathologies, allergy. In the meantime, a bronchodilator like salbutamol spray, an antihistamine like aerus may help him now. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
