What Causes Short Period When Diagnosed With A Fibroid?

I am 42 y/o and had a tubal ligation nearly 14 years ago. Since then, my period has been heavy first 3 days, nothing on the 4th and spot days 5-10. Well, last month I was in ER for heavy cramping and they said I had a fibroid 6.2 cm, one ovary larger than other, but very fertile, and negative on pregnancy test. This month it just stopped completely after day 3 and been nauseous and dizzy every since. Could I possibly be pregnant??? They say I m nowhere near menopause due to my still very fertile ovaries.... PLEASE HELP

Hello,
If there is a chance of pregnancy the only way to tell is to take a pregnancy test. However, fibroids can cause irregular bleeding and this may only get worse until you go through menopause when fibroids usually stop becoming a problem. Tubal ligations rarely fail but they occasionally do so please take a pregnancy test to make sure.
