This answer was for a patient who had complain of pain in multiple joints. The person has been seeing a doctor and he or she was adviced to do vit.D levels test in body but there was no improvement in the condition of patient, the pain was there and even after 5 months of treatment...(I dont know why the answer got posted for this question instead of the one above I meantioned.)
hello,it would be helpful if you mention your age and gender while putting your question.First of all pain in shoulders, knees, fingers ,wrists at such multiple joints is typically seen in
rheumatoid arthritis. There are other etiologies ofcourse. But most likely the cause can be RA.And your doctor has told that you dont have RA after running the related tests. What other blood tests you have done regarding this?Is there any swelling of the joints involved apart from warm feeling at joint places or any
stiffness in early morning which reduces over physical activity?Any family history of
autoimmune disease with same symptoms?Have you been adviced to do vit.D levels test?If yes and after seeing the necessary reports the doctor has concluded that you have deficiency of vit D.If you are above 50-60 age then with age joints and bones of body become weak.Deficiency leads to symptoms. It will be good if you also give your most latest blood test results along with your question.I would suggest you if you have vit.D deficiency then its going to take some time to recover to normal levels.then eventually the symptoms will reduce as you take medicines. You should take the medicine as per the doctor suggested and do visit the doctor for the regular follow ups.you mentioned even after 5 months there is no improvement then its better to discuss it to your doctor so that he or she can examine your joints and might repeat few tests if need again.yet If its not effective then as its ok to take
second opinion by personal visit to one more doctor because as your condition, physical examination is very important.if any further queries do contact.wish you good health.
