What Causes Shivering In The Body And Tiredness?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I am a 20 year old girl. Lately, I have noticed that I get shaky quite often. My hands tremble visibly, sometimes my knees shake, and my teeth chatter. It usually happens around 10:00 a.m. I have been in to my M.D., who acted very unconcerned. I feel tired alot. Sometimes after an 8 or 9 hour night, I feel like I could go back to bed and sleep it over again. I m not lazy, either! I m usually active, just seem to have less energy than I used to have. Also, I seem to drink a lot. Can be very thirsty. Sometimes, I stop drinking because I m tired of drinking, not because I ve quenched my thirst. I usually would drink at least a gallon a day, and sometimes 2 gallons, or more. Another thing is, I feel down, or depressed. Sometimes I go from having a very happy day into a mood in which all I want to do is weep. What s wrong with me? Am I going crazy??

Do you reside in a cold country?

As you say you often have bouts of depression, you must consult a psychologist/behavioural therapist for treating depression first. You are prone to mood swings.
Excessive drinking is taking a toll on your health since you are too young and on top of that being a female makes it harder for your body to metabolise alcohol.
You feel tired and sleepy because of two reasons mainly: depression and alcohol consumption. Also you must be malnourished due to excessive alcohol intake which displaces wholesome and nutritious food from your diet.
You must limit your alcohol intake and never drink on an empty stomach. Women are advised not to take more than one drink in a day. So, eat a well-balanced diet with fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low fat dairy products and stay positive. Cheer up!
