What Causes Sharp Upper Abdominal Pain And Gastritis Despite Giving Miralax?

I have a son 13 and is getting bad pain in his upper right side of the rib cage. I took him in emergency and can t find nothing wrong with him. They told me, he has gas and needs to poop. I followed what the doctor said to give him miralax. The boy is still in pain and don t no what to do. He poops okay,now what do I do. He seems so tired all the time from the pain. He was working out before this all happened, could that be the cause.

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having symptoms of sharp upper abdominal pain and gastritis despite giving Miralax which is most probably due to all of the changes taking place in your body such as electrolyte imbalance, illness gastritis or IBS and make be over intake of milk products. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to get up slowly and do not lie down right after eating , eat small meals or snacks often, try not to skip meals . You should avoid intake of outside food. If condition doesn't get better in 2-3 days the consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe laxative , anaspas , omeprazole or antacid. You should eat cold food instead of hot, eat lot of fibrous food like fresh vegetables and fruits or ginger can sometimes help an upset stomach , eating salty potato chips can help settle the stomach enough to eat a meal
