What Causes Sharp Stabbing Pain On The Left Side Of The Head?
I have had a migraine going on 3 days straight I feel a sharp stabbing pain on the front left side of my head. Feel almost like something is being stabbed through my left eye.I can t even stand light it makes me nauseous what should I do? Tried otc. Meds with only temp relief of a half hour to hour tops I can barely even see my screen to write this. Thank God for talking text. Should I have my husband take me to the emergency room or is there anything else I cam try at home 1st?
The symptoms are consistent with common causes like a migraine or tension headache, as a first line management you can try analgesics like aceclofenac or tramadol for pain relief.
If symptoms persist, better to consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI brain to rule out possible intra cranial (inside the brain) causes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Shinas Hussain,
