Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sharp Stabbing Pain In The Vagina During 34 Weeks Of Pregnancy?
I am 34 weeks pregnant. Yesterday I lifted a heavy object and felt fine afterward but today I am having some concern. I have been experiencing a sharp stabbing pain in the vagina for most of the day. Every thing I have read says this is normal pain but I want to be sure.
If particular strain is given during weight lifting or some postural adjustment malalignment for a particular period of time, sharp vaginal pain can be predicted. Provided there is no leaking of fluid or blood staining in undergarments, one can wait for a period of 6-12 hours about its resolution with rest and acetaminophen. If persists beyond the same period or increase in intensity with suggested symptoms, immediately call 911 for further assistance.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
