What Causes Sharp Shooting Vaginal Pain With Brown Discharge?

Yesterday, I noticed I had brown discharge from my vagina (which was 8 days after I had sex using the pull out method). The discharge was accompanied by sharp shooting vaginal pains. I assumed I had started my period because I always get those shooting pains usually a week before my period. I took my tampon out this morning and all that was on there was brown discharge (no blood like usual) so I began to panic. Today the brown discharge has turned more into a blood texture with a light consistent flow and increased sharp vaginal pains. Normally by this time, I expect my period to full on begin so now I m panicking. I looked up the symptoms and implantation bleeding came up and now I m terrified that I could be pregnant. The only condolences I could offer myself were that I know for sure my partner never ejaculated in me and that my cycle was irregular the past 2 months. What else could this be besides implantation bleeding?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Because your periods were irregular for the last 2 months, it may be difficult to accurately calculate your ovulation and fertile days or rule out possible implantation bleeding. So, it is safer to have a pregnancy test.

If the test comes out positive you will need a visit with your doctor because a positive pregnancy test with pain and bleeding should warrant investigations to rule out an ectopic pregnancy.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
